In most Manchester homes, carpets are dry enough to walk on within four to six hours after cleaning. The timeline depends on the carpet thickness, the level of soil, and airflow in the room. We extract as much moisture as possible during the cleaning process, so you are never left with soaking wet carpets. Opening windows and doors after we finish speeds drying significantly. Wool carpets and thicker wool-blend carpets can take a little longer, up to eight hours in cold or poorly ventilated rooms.
Yes. Every product we bring into your home is plant-derived, biodegradable, and pH-neutral once dry. We do not use any products that contain bleach, phosphates, or optical brighteners. During the cleaning process we ask that children and pets stay out of the room being cleaned, primarily to avoid slipping on damp carpet. Once the carpet is dry, usually within a few hours, there is no restriction at all. Families with young children who crawl or sit on the floor regularly choose us specifically because of this.
We ask that you clear small items, breakables, and light objects from the area before we arrive. This includes things like plant pots, toys, floor lamps, and coffee table items. For larger pieces of furniture such as sofas, beds, and wardrobes, we can work around them or help you move them where it is practical and safe to do so. Moving very heavy or fragile furniture is always done at your discretion. If you have a reasonably clear room to start with, a standard bedroom or living room takes us around twenty to thirty minutes to clean.
For a typical household without pets, once every twelve months is a reasonable maintenance schedule. This keeps fibres free of the abrasive grit that breaks them down over time and removes the allergens and dust mites that accumulate in even well-vacuumed carpets. Households with dogs or cats benefit from cleaning every six months, particularly if the animals sleep on the carpet or have had any accidents. High-traffic areas like hallways and stairs accumulate soil faster than bedrooms and often benefit from more frequent attention. Landlords typically clean between every tenancy, regardless of how long the previous tenant was in residence.
We have a very high success rate with most common stains, including coffee, tea, red wine, mud, pet urine, and cooking oil, particularly when we get to them quickly. Some stains can be irreversible if they have been left for a long time, treated with the wrong products beforehand, or if the substance has chemically altered the dye in the carpet fibres. Bleach splashes, for example, are not stains we can reverse because the colour has been permanently removed. We will always assess the stain before we start and give you an honest view of what we can achieve rather than promising something we cannot deliver.
